Look what I found at Macy's, the new Martha Stewart Collection. *squeal!*

I'll take this, this, this, and all of these. No wait, I want these as well. Well damn, I'll just take all of it!

I know what I'll be putting on my Christmas wishlist. 

I have yet to go by Michael's to check out the new Martha Halloween Collection, but I have heard good things about it.  Can't wait to get my hands on those as well.

THREE DAY WEEKEND!!! WOOHOO!!  Making a list of all the things I want to get done this weekend, including getting the purse finished up.

for the love of fabric..

Is it wrong to get so happy about new fabric?  Picked this up from a Quilt Shop Kayte and I went to on Saturday.  And I'm pretty darn proud of myself because I only spent 13 and some change at that place.  But next time I go, there is going to be some serious damage to my bank account, there was just way to much pretty fabric in that place.

But the one thing I won't find is Amy Butler stuff.  Because in the words of the lady that was helping us, "Any Amy Butler we have will be in the eviction corner, we stopped carrying it because it looks like everything else."  *damn, that was cold!*

So I picked up some lovely Katie Jump Rope and the blues are by Michele D'Amore.  I'm making two purses one from Amy Butler and the other is from the book Bend the Rules Sewing.

Right now I'm washing the fabric and hope to start cutting the pattern for the Bend The Rules Purse tomorrow. 

Can't wait to get started on these new sewing projects!

thirty-three things

Last month for my birthday I made a list of 33 things I wanted to do in my 33rd year.  Some of them are goals that I have set for myself, some little other big and everything in between.  Others are more about changing my thinking, being more mindful of how I use my time and treat others around me.  I was inspired by this post from Nora Griffins blog.

So here it goes, my thirty-three things to do in my thirty-third year:

1. take yoga classes
2. figure out how to use my camera
3. read more books
4. reach my goal weight
5. organize the bathroom and closet
6. find a balance
7. cook healthy meals at least twice a week
8. create a budget and stick to it
9. buy a new car
10. be more aware of the things I use that impact the environment
11. get caught up on 2005 and 2006 scrapbooking
12. learn to knit socks
13. start a running program
14. have more fun
15. keep checkbook balanced and current
16. eat more local produce
17. grow a vegetable garden
18. learn more about photoshop
19. visit the local art exhibits
20. spend more time with family
21. see an opera
22. turn in library books on time!
23. stop and observe the world around me
24. spend more time outside in the fresh air
25. buy a bicycle
26. join a softball league
27. simplify
28. take a real vacation (outside of the state)
29. enjoy the little moments
30. make a dent in my cross stitch projects
31. catch up on all the "projects" that I have going on.
32. take even more pictures
33. smile more.

Ok, so here are some of my favorite movies, not all of them, just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.  So if you have not seen any movies on this list I highly recommend them.

goodby old friends...

Yesterday I finally finished Harry Potter.  I laughed, I cried, I whooped with joy.  I was very happy with the ending although I do wish she would have made Harry Minister of Magic, but that's just me.

I did get a little stuck on the book right in the middle.  For some reason it just seemed to move slow for me where usually the past books have been at a faster pace.  There was a review of the book after it came out that basically had the same feeling.  It felt as if it was missing something, and that something was Hogwarts.  I really did miss the usual school year and was very happy when they made their way back to the school.

I always like a story that gives you little clues to the ending but at the time you don't know it. Then at the end you are given the full picture, it makes going back and reading it much more fun. Because then you can go back and find those clues and you fully understand everything.

And can I just say the King's Cross chapter, to me, was brilliant!  As I was reading it I could not believe that J.K. Rowling had all of this in her head.  Although at one point i did think I was going to have to pull out a piece of paper to keep up with everything that Dumbledore and Harry talked about.

Then there are all the characters the died this book.  The ones I was most upset about where Dobby (sp?) and Snape.  Not to say I wasn't upset about the others, but these two more than any.  And also Hedgwig, the only reason I could think for killing Hedgwig off was because they couldn't carry her around the country side.

And yes Kayte, you where right.  Snape was with Dumbledore all along.  It was good to see that side of Snape, it made him a bit more understandable.

All in all it was a very good book and brought an end to a good series.  It will be hard to watch the movies now knowing who dies in the end.  I'll just be thinking to myself, "you die, you die, and you die".

The best line of the whole book? " STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY, YOU BITCH!".  I busted out laughing at that. And yeah for Mrs. Weasly for getting the bitch in the end.

So there it is, just a few thought on the last Harry Potter book.

*side note, if I've misspelled any of the character names it's because I'm at work and don't have the book to go back to.

sad to say...

The Red Lily is closing it's doors. 

I will miss these ladies! It's been so fun to know them and be on the design team.  Right now they are having a sale on kits, so if your looking for some really great stuff go check them out.

I don't know what's scarier..

the fact that people are getting down to Michael Jackson in prison or the "guy" in tight jeans.

first day of school

Today was Busters first day of dog training, so of course I was an excited/worried mother.  The trainer came to the house and we sat and talked about his very bad behavior and how he's been running the house.  It was mostly just sitting and talking about how the training is going to go and then we practiced a little bit.  But she gave us a long list of things to work on until the next training session.  One thing I think might be a problem is he does not like the clicker that we use for training, going to have to find one that's not so loud and that he'll respond to.

We have a long road ahead of us.
